Summary contract of sale of a slave girl. Didymos son of Iason sells at auction to Eirenaios a dark-complexioned (possibly Nubian?) slave-girl for whom a custom's receipt has been issued at Syene. Should a defect be discovered regarding the slave-girl, the seller promises the buyer legal assistance. Should he fail to provide such, he will refund the purchase price plus damages. (J.J. Farber)
