[Voice of Chnoummachis], son of Espmetsepsis,
[before the carrier-of-Ra] Eschnompmetis,
the priest of Hapi. Oh may Pre cause
his lifetime to be long! I have reached the nome
of Esna. I have visited
the chief of the [Southern Land] concerning
the offering income before Chnoum.
I have spoken in front of him concerning
emmer as emmer. He has said to me: ‘I will cause
the chief of Thebes to come to the north.
When I come back, I will cause to be given
to you emmer as emmer. Let your
agent stay here! I will not allow
that something goes wrong with the offering income
before Chnoum.’ I have hesitated,
saying 1Cf. also Den Brinker / Muhs / Vleeming, DBL (2005), 53: “so that I might find”. (to me?) : Until I have determined
his activities, take care
of all matters being with you!
Let the Pastophor arrive,
who shall take [the] wreath
of the chief of Thebes `at the 1st of Pachons´ and (the wreath) of his staff,
and the wreath of the
priest of Chnoum and (the wreath) of his staff and
(the wreath) of the Great! They may deliver
the dispatches of the nome scribes!
Send to me (concerning) the matters happened
to you! Issued by Chnoummachis
in the 6th regnal year, 25th of Pharmuti.
vso 1[To] Eschnompmetis,
vso 2the priest of Hapi.
