1We offer for sale on the following terms: the successful bidders shall pay
2to the crown annually in the case of vineyards the appropriate
3money taxes and the apomoira due to
4 (Arsinoe) Philadelphus, and for the arable land the imposed rents in kind and what-
5ever other payment is required in respect of such land. They shall pay the price
6of that which concerns the crown to the royal bank, and of that which concerns
7the --- (temples? into their own?) bank, within three years, concerning the priestly offices of the whole price
8the 4th part in gold or silver of the new coinage
9and the remainder in copper with the customary agio at the rate of 10 drachmae 2,5 obols on the mina,
10and the price of the other landed property in copper with the customary agio, and in addition
11they shall pay for the cost of carriage (for the copper) three obols per mina and the proper
121/60th and as crier's fee on the whole purchase 1/1000th. The purchaser of the
13priestly offices shall receive the due revenues as soon as the
14first instalment has been paid to the crown, and he shall be owner of the land;
15and of its produce, if it has been sown by the former owners,
16if it has been leased, those who have cultivated it shall pay
17the rent to the purchaser in accordance with the contracts made
18with the cultivators. The purchasers shall pay of the price immediately
19the 4th part and the remainder in 3 years beginning from year 25, paying
20annually in Epeiph and Mesore the amount which falls
21due, and on cattle and implements they shall pay immeditately the
22taxes --- the 1/20 and 1/90. They shall own
23the properties in the same way as those who formerly possessed them. Whoever wishes shall be permitted
24to raise the bid, by as much as he pleases while the auction-ring is still open,
25but only by ten per cent after the auction is ended
26and until the 1st instalment has been paid; and the
27objects offered shall be classed as unsold after the 6 days precribed by the ordinance.
