Comments on Text | Margoliouth mentioned that the purpose of this prescription is not ststed. In line 5 the word ابق is a deckname of mercury; in 1, 8 حي علم is for حي عالم sempervivum, in English house-leek. Doubtless the juice is meant here as there, in 1, 12تصحب probably means (be obedient), I. e. (serviceable). Sempervivum. but i think حي علم is Aptenia cordifolia wich is a species of succulent plant in the iceplant family known by the common names heartleaf iceplant and baby sun rose. Perhaps known as an ornamental plant. |
