Comments on Text | Margoliouth mentioned that the word kabīs is said to mean either a sort of date, or fruit preserved in vinegar. And when I search in the Tongue of the Arabs (Lisān al-ʿArab) glossary bout the meaning of the (kabīs), I found among the meanings that the fruit of the palm ('umm jirdhan), called (kabīs) if dry, if wet is ('umm jirdhan), as well as (kabīs) mean collecting stuff in the smallest possible space. The name “التركمانى” in line 7 refer that this person have roots from Turkmen. |
