Summary of Content | (↑ side of the papyrus) Account (logos) of objects deposited as security. The text originates in Hermonthis, the Theban village Petemout is mentioned. This, and also texts P.Lond.V 1719-1721 belonged to a family from Thebes / Hermonthis, but the text was found on Elephantine, because the family or a member thereof probably moved there. On the recto (→) there is a Greek text with a receipt for the full price of an ear-ring deposited as security for a debt. The family members were probably pawnbrokers. |
