1 Demotic transcription and translation by Jan Moje. 2 The lemma ṯꜣy was forgotten by the scribe ad added later below the line. 3 The name Taouerseus resp. Taorseus is attesteed often in Greek soures, but only two times in a Demotic text. One is the (late?) Roman Ostr. Berlin 12995 from Elephantine (Kaplony-Heckel, in AfP 49 (2003), 73 – 74 Nr. 12), the other the Roman Papyrus PSI 8 from Tebtynis (translation of the Demotic part by Spiegelberg p. 80-82). According to the Greek text, this was Taouerseus Senior (Ταουρσεους πρεσβ), but in Demotic only one group ꜥꜣ.t, which is used to indicated the Elder one, is written. This is because the Egyptian tried to avoid a dittography of ꜥꜣ.t. |
