Text Content

Modern Title Fragmentary Ostracon with Unidentified Script.
Summary of Content The small ostracon appears to be written in Aramaic or (medieval ?) Hebrew, but may be Demotic. If read as Aramaic/Hebrew, the text is not sensible. It is unclear if it comes from Elephantine, though the sherd is probably Egyptian. For discussion of the unknown provenance of items in the "X" collection, see Lozachmeur.
