Comments on Text | The name and description on the pot is written in Phoenician while the name on the side of the pot (O 2314) is in a more cursive hand which Röllig identifies as Aramaic. Picture “Taf. 34b” appears to show writing on the left side of the jar. This inscription Röllig studies as no. 24 = Database no. 315549. For concave inscription (Database no. 315549 = Röllig no. 24): Reading follows Röllig. The ר is in doubt. It looks like a פ. The initial נ could also be פ, according to Röllig. |
